Hi Andrea,
I was so happy to read your blog. I will continue to pray for your platelets to rebound. Continue to enjoy the beauty around you and know that so many people are holding you in their hearts! Please tell your mom and Aunt Barb hello from me….we miss you here!!
Lots of love,
Liz, Tom, and Family
A,
Its been a long Journey and I know you are growing weary from all you have had to go through this last year. You have shown such strength and courage. Amen for the wonderful people in your life. Your parents and family have been wonderful, your Aunt Barb for all her support, Connie for all her help with the kids, Liz for the amazing knowledge and medical support, your church community for all the flight and meal donations. I am truly amazed at the community support. I have felt so helpless watching you and your family go through this as so many of your friends have. I think this blog is a great way to let them know what they can do to help. You know we are here praying and thinking of you. I am glad you are in beautiful surroundings. Let us know if we can do anything on the homefront.

Hi Andrea! Dan and I are friends of Mike and Barb in KC and although we have never met you, you are dear to our hearts. From what we have heard of your determination, courage and inspiration in this fight for your health…..we are all certainly grateful to offer our prayers and help during this time.
I have never “blogged” before so this is a new experience for me too.
It sounds like you ladies are seeing new sites, and the beach is always so relaxing……perhaps this is just what the good Lord ordered, ha! Enjoy…………
I hope you can feel all the love and support,
P.S. My husband and I joke that my Mom has a “straight line” to Heaven (and so her church family). She lives in Texas and attends a small, fundamental church with her “seasoned” friends and “prayer warriors.” They have not ceased to pray for your needs! So you can rest assured to “Let go and let God……………”
Andrea, This memorial Day weekend is a time of reflection for all those who have gone before us,but it is also a time to reflect on all those still with us who are really courageous and fighting their battle to heal. I am a friend of Mike and Barb in Kimberling City and know your story well. I wish you hope on this new journey of yours and my prayers are never far away. We can complain alot about what is not right with us in our own lives, but then I stop and think of you, and all that you have gone through in your journey, and my aches and pains fade in the distance. Keep your faith and know God walks beside you everyday and holds you up when you feel you can’t go on. Hope you girls aren’t having too much fun!!!:) Tell Barb we miss her. All our best to you. Karin Reeves
Hi Andrea,
What a wonderful gift your blog is to all of us here who continue to pray for you and your family each day. I didn’t get a chance to give you a “hug” before you left; but continue to get updates from Liz. We’ve all been “storming heaven” so that your platelets will “soar” and your treatment can get underway. Your courage, strength and dignity are a source of inspiration to all of us and we ask that God’s richest blessings be with you, especially during your time in California. Know that you are in our hearts and thoughts Andrea and hope that you can “feel” the hugs – they are all around you. We look forward to your news and your coming home! Warmest wishes to your Mom and Aunt. Take good care of yourself sweetie!
Hi gals!
Wow! Great BLOG! What a hightech Guru you have become out in L.A.!!! We got your whole gang out to Tim & Linda’s lake house yesterday. Grandpa and Jack had fun on the boat ride and Britt and Ash had a blast on the boat also. They loved tubing and had a great time with a whole gang of boys and girls. Your crew also had a great time on the water trampoline. Jack would have jumped all night long! We also got together with everyone tonight for dinner. Joey was going to take the boys fishing but the weather looked like it might storm and dinner ran late so they all played in the hose instead! We miss you all dearly but pleased to hear you are getting settled, relaxing and having some fun on your “girls trip”. Watch out Hollywood and Rodeo Drive!! I wish I could be with you! Please give big hugs to Gigi and Aunt Barb. Hi Gals! We are thinking of you and praying for good news in your appointment tomorrow. (Jake prayed for you at the breakfast table this morning) GO Platletts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love ya sweetie!!
Andrea,
We haven’t met, but my CHRP Team 8 has been praying for you & lighting candles constantly-our thanks to Pete Stobie & Brad Chandler for helping us become aware of your family!
My son Jack will be entering 5th grade at Ascension, and keeps me “informed” of the prayer intentions at school, and know that the Husongs are constantly mentioned!
Jack & I are convinced that we each have a guardian angel, and it’s wonderful that you have a second (your doctor!) right here on earth.
Regards,
John Solomon
Hi Andrea!
I’m not sure if you remember me. Your Aunt Barb & I have been friends for “many” years. In fact, we came and stayed with your family a couple of summers when you and Joe were little.
You have had to endure so much. I know it hasn’t been easy. I admire your strength and courage. It sounds like you are in a place with the best technology and doctors.
I’m enjoying reading in blog and keeping up with your day to day progress and activities. Hang in there girl, you’re going to make it.
You are in my thoughts and prayers along with so many others.
Take care and maybe Aunt Barb needs to take you to Chippendale’s while you’re out there??

Andrea- Great news on your new meds! Saw the girls last week at Joey and Mary’s. They look great- isn’t there a magic pill we can give all these kids to make them stop growing up so fast??? Let me know as soon as your dad plans his trip out there in July because I told the girls I’d kidnap them for a week if that’s ok with you. Keeping you in our prayers and always in our hearts! Love you! Melinda
I just wanted to let you know that I often think of you and your family and pray that everything will work out. You have been sorely missed in our investment club meetings and I look forward to seeing you and getting to talk to you. I’m sorry I missed the last time you were there.
May God bless you all

Hi Andrea! I just missed seeing Jack at your father-in-law’s! I wanted to see him but Jim had to get him back and I wasn’t home yet! I think of you often and always have you in my thoughts and prayers!!! Always! I know the Lord has his hand in this and I know that you trust him, so do I with my recently diagnosed squamous cell carcinoma. Your kids are beautiful in the pics and so are you!!! Thank you for taking the time to do the updates, you are the most positive and amazing woman! WOW! I know the Lord, your family and close friends are the pillars of your life! Keep up the great communication and thank you for sharing it all with us, we feel a special part.

Andrea,
Although we have never met in person-I feel like I already know you. We attend Ascension and three of our four kids are there-as our oldest is at Rockhurst. I admire your strenghth and your courage. Your strong faith is a shining example for us all and especially your children. Our CRHP teams as well as our family have been keeping you in our prayers. Thank you for sharing your story and keeping us updated. I know you have many, many people praying for you. I pray that your pain goes away and you can get back to California for treatment. You have such a beautiful family that you must be so proud of!
